Key Maritime was founded in 1997, and ever since the beginning our main objective has been to deliver timely and reliable services. The company is well established as both cargo and parcel operators as well as time charter operators in sizes ranging from coasters and handy/handymax vessels to panamax tonnage.
In 2007 the company took a natural next step into ship owning. This venture has been initiated by focusing on the small handysize and minibulk segment. Together with their partners, Key Maritime purchased the second-hand MV “Arosa” 20,001 DWAT built in 2002, and ordered four newbuildings of 7300 DWAT from a Chinese yard. Three newbuildings were delivered in 2008 and one in February 2009.
Key Maritime have several ongoing joint ventures, and are always looking for new opportunities in this area.
